Moon Phases (in a nutshell)

So here we are at the first full moon of 2016. It is my pleasure to share with you, in my own words a bit of what I know about moon phases, and it's not stereotypical hocus-pocus.  It is real nature.

And as far as moon themes are concerned, they are something I have not got quite in depth with, though this full moon is the Wolf Moon.  And being an animal lover and believer in animal spirits, I got inspired to create this picture for you :)

When the sun hits the moon completely full on,  we are indeed experiencing the moon's energy at it's most intense point.  It is a time which is often feared my many as a time of danger, chaos, craziness, and dysfunction.  Moods are running at an all time high, and the need for emotional release in any form intensifies.

Aside from that, it is the best time to take it easy, avoid harsh situations, and to start releasing all the things you are ready to let go of.  And it can be anything, whether it be items you don't want or need anymore,  attitudes that are no longer serving you, bad habits, or sometimes even some people or situations.  Also keep in mind, it is not the best time to start anything new.  For example, cutting or dying your hair isn't the best idea because chances are, it's not going to turn out to your liking.  It's also not the best time to start a garden, either because the gravitation pull from the moon starts to lesson which can cause slow growth and a late and possibly sparse harvest.

And the main reason for all this is because when the moon is full, it is also starting the waning period which means for the next two weeks, the suns reflection on the moon progressively lessens (wanes) and so does the effects and gravitational pull.  Make sense?  It does to me from personal experience. I'm never cutting my hair during that time again.

So up until the moon is waxing, which is on the next new moon, it is essentially the best time for letting go and harvesting, instead of starting new projects,  planting,  or anything related to that matter.

On the flip side, the new moon is a time when the suns reflection on the moon starts to increase or wax.  Waxing is the opposite of waning, so you get the idea.  And during this time, this is when you pretty much want to start doing the opposite of what you'd do when the moon is waning.  It's the perfect time for manifesting, starting new projects,  planting a garden, and yes of course trying a new hairstyle.  Whatever you do, set your intention and make it a good one!

And when you do anything in between the cycles,  keep in mind the outcome will still be effective, just not as intense.

I hope you found this brief little bit on info useful and thank you for reading my blog.   Feel free to comment, share, or ask any questions if you may! Namaste :)
